Considering the uncontrolled expansion of existing structures identified during the research study, which focused on the problems created by the kiosk designs in the city and the existing inventory in Istanbul, a solution was focused on optimizing the function and accordingly the size of the kiosks located in public spaces. In this sense, our proposal, which focuses on today's needs, diminishing needs and needs that may arise in the near future, is considered as a compact product based on a modulation designed to be function-centered.
Eliminating the visual pollution and polyphony caused by the use of prefabricated buildings in various parts of Istanbul with different designs over the years and their many types of applications, and standardization of these structures which dominate public spaces uncontrollably, in a multifunctional, compact and sustainable manner is targeted.
In line with the variable needs of the location in the city, a sustainable modular system has been defined that allows the unit to grow and shrink, to be easily transported, and to be reused for different purposes at another point.
The modularity and standardization in the design provides especially ease of production, and proposes a sustainable cycle, a transformable system regarding the maintenance and replacement of materials over time.
